Our grief support services are available for loved ones of patients who have died at our hospice. Grief support is organized by the social worker and chaplain, with the help of volunteers. Our program has two main components. First, hospice volunteers will call families once a month for up to one year (if desired) to offer a friendly ear. Second, there is a monthly drop-in grief support group held at the hospice. In addition, we hold an In Memoriam Service and Tea twice a year. Patients' loved ones may also make an appointment to visit one-on-one with our social worker or chaplain, on an occasional basis. (If regular grief counselling is needed, they can refer you to other professionals.) For more information about any aspect of our grief support services, please ask the chaplain or social worker.
